Marti Fennell of Clifton Park, passed into the Lord’s hands on July 7, 2015 at Ellis Hospital with her loving husband and family by her side. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Catherine Driscoll Ryan. She is also predeceased by her siblings, Helen Ryan, Therese Coyle, Catherine Ryan and James Ryan. She lived most of her life in the Capital District. She graduated from Catholic High and received her B.S. and M.S. from the College of Saint Rose. Marti had a long career in teaching math, she fully enjoyed her students. She retired from Lansingburg Knickerbacker Middle School. She was a long time communicant at St. Edwards, The Confessor Church in Clifton Park where she developed a number of wonderful friendships with the “Sunday counting group.” She enjoyed traveling, reading, playing cards, bowling, antiquing with her husband and curling up with her pets, Tom, Sam, Bud and Max. She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Johnny Fennell, brother, Harold Ryan, sister, Grace McCurry and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at St. Edwards Church in Clifton Park. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Marti at 11 a.m. Burial will take place following the Mass at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Troy. During the calling hours, a continental buffet will be available at the church from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Donations may be made in her honor to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Avenue, Menands, NY 12204 or visit www.MohawkHumaneSociety.org.
