William J. "Billy" Riley age 56 passed away suddenly on Friday April 26, 2024 at Albany Medical Center. Born in Albany NY, he was the son of the late William B. Riley and nephew of the late Marilyn F. Riley. William was a Respiratory Sales Specialist with AstraZeneca for the past 5 years and previously worked for 15 years at Takeda Pharmaceutical Company. It was his roles as father and husband that Bill cherished most. He deeply loved his family and if you knew him, you knew it. He was big-hearted and vibrant, Bill had a real zest for life. One of his greatest attributes was his undeniably incredible sense of humor. He was oftentimes the funniest person in the room capturing people with his quick wit, ability to tell a funny story and recite the most appropriate line from a movie and at the perfect moment. He took great pride in other extracurricular activities, most especially the many years he spent coaching Halfmoon baseball, motivating team members and other coaches in a way only he could, and as a member of the Halfmoon Baseball Board of Directors. Bill was especially honored to serve as a member of the Board of Directors for American Housing Foundation, Inc. which helps local communities build affordable, safe housing opportunities for people especially seniors. William leaves behind his Loving wife of 27 years Kathleen (Cleland) Riley. Three sons, Colin W. Riley, Aidan F. Riley and Quinn P. Riley. His mother Elaine L. Riley. Three brothers, Michael (Maribeth) Riley, Robert (Kelli) Riley and Kevin (Dana) Riley. His Aunt Nancy (Paul) Gallipeo. And many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be this Wednesday from 4 to 7 pm at the Catricala Funeral Home, Inc. 1597 route 9, Clifton Park NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be Celebrated Thursday Morning at 10 am at St. Mary's Church in Crescent. Burial will take place in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Watervliet.
